As you will have likely heard, the Federal Government has deemed Monday, September 19th a national holiday in observance of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. In BC, the government chose to close all public schools and other public institutions. Independent schools in BC have been left to make their own determinations about whether to be open or closed on that day. After weighing the various implications of opening and of closing that day, we have decided to make Monday a non-instructional day.
With the professional development day on Friday, September 23, that week now becomes a 3-day school week for learners.
