BACK TO SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

On Wednesday, August 31 all new and returning PSII learners for 2022-23 are invited to come into the school to meet, reconnect, and just take the edge off those back to school jitters. The school will be open from 1:30 to 3:00 and people can drop in at any time during that window. The entrance to the school is on Douglas St. at 808 Douglas St. next to the Noodlebox Cafe.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Learners’ first day back to school is Tuesday, September 6. This first day is a half day only, and the half you will attend depends on whether or not you are new to PSII or returning.

  • New PSII learners (regardless of grade level) will attend from 9:30 to 12:00 (please try to arrive between 9:00 and 9:30)
  • Returning PSII learners (regardless of grade level) will attend from 1:00 until 3:30 (please try to arrive between 12:30 and 1:00)

After this first day, all learners will attend full days from 9:30 to 3:30.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Our school supply list is pretty small, but these items are important. Not everything is required for the first day, so there is no panic. PSII learners need:

  • pens (for the year)
  • pencils (for the year)
  • graph paper (50-100 sheets; 1 cm squares)
  • lined paper (100 sheets)
  • calculator (We recommend: Sharp EL510RTB – approx. $10 to 15; phones not sufficient for high school math nor permitted on exams)
  • a laptop computer is required, and the school provides that (covered in tuition) on a two-year replacement schedule. Unless you indicated in June that your family was providing a laptop, one has already been purchased for your learner and is ready to be issued in the first week. For those supplying thier own, you will receive a reimbursement in mid September.
  • optional: coloured pens/pencils, USB memory stick

More info coming in a couple of weeks about school photos, three-way interviews, and some administrivial items. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
