We know that you have most of this information in the package sent to you at the very beginning of the year and on the 2022-23 Year Calendar on the website, but we wanted to offer a reminder as some of these dates draw closer.

From January 24 to January 26 (Tuesday to Thursday), BC Student Assessments (exams) are scheduled. On those days, only learners scheduled for exams will be in attendance. For all other learners, school is not in session on those days. There will be another session of these again in late June. Both exam periods are marked in yellow in the 2022-23 calendar on the website.

Friday, January 27 is our second Community Learning Day. On this day, learners are not in session at the school, but are prepared to engage in community-based or home-based work of some kind. Some of those activities may include creating or updating resumes and cover letters, exploring or doing volunteer work, researching post-secondary programs, researching career options, creating a personal portfolio, or exploring aspects of their local community. Learners will have a plan for the day and this plan will be solidified with their org teachers by the end of this week.

Friday, February 17 is a professional development day for most schools in the region. School is not in session that day as teachers engage in professional development activities.

Monday, February 20 is Family Day – a statutory holiday in BC. Schools are not in session that day.

If you have any questions about these days, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s org teacher.
